Life Concept (TLC) is a series of educational and motivational
programs addressing non-job related risk factors. These programs
are specialized and are available from a select number of

Fitness Training and Gym Design – Frequent, vigorous
exercise has been linked with improved health, mental focus
and attitude. Fit workers also demonstrate lower rates of
chronic illness and better attendance records. For these reasons
and others many progressive businesses are developing fitness
centers in their facilities. But how do you get the most for
your dollar in a workplace gym, and how do you achieve high
levels of employee participation? This service can help.
The Fitness Training and Gym Design program is designed for
the development and administration of an on-site gym facility
complete with personal training. The process of effective
facility design may include the gathering of input from individuals
or groups who will fund, maintain or use the facility. The
functional qualities of the facility are determined by doing
a comprehensive assessment of the following: space and funds
available, user profile, level of supervision, and type of
strength training and conditioning that will be performed.
A proposal is then submitted to the organization determining
the room design (size, floor plan and placement), staffing
(facility manager and personal trainers), and cost parameters.
Smoking Cessation – Smoking has been associated
with many debilitating health conditions including heart disease,
stroke and musculoskeletal disorders, to name just a few.
Many employees who smoke want to quit but have not been successful
alone. This program utilizes a comprehensive approach and
has yielded impressive results.
The
Smoking Cessation program is at the top of our Health Promotion
agenda. With teen smoking on the rise (future workforce) and
the rate of adult quitting relatively flat at 10% the need
to address smoking among our workers is apparent. Our program
combines a five step approach with a comprehensive strategy
to obtain impressive successive rates. So, if you're fed up
with the high cost and modest success of in-house or health
plan provided programs, try an independent perspective and
third-party validation to help you meet your objectives.
Self-Care Management Systems – Two of the more
difficult challenges to most people in achieving good health
and wellbeing are how to address injuries that do develop
and how to encourage good, healthful life practices. This
90-minutes seminar is designed to inform and motivate participants
to take charge of their self-care.
Designed
and developed by a number of top health educators and health
service providers, the Self-Care Management Systems program
delivers easy-to-follow advice that encourages appropriate
treatment of common injuries and illnesses. Emphasis is placed
on making informed lifestyle choices, as well as reacting
appropriately to emergency situations. Natural or alternative
approaches to healing will also be discussed along with how
to access valuable information from the internet. In addition
to an interesting, interactive 90-minute instructional experience,
each participant will also receive his or her own workbook
for continued learning and health promotion. Providing this
workshop to your employees will help improve individual well-being
and help manage demand for health care services.
Nutritional Maintenance with Healthy Eating –
Obesity, diabetes, and heart disease are all on the rise and
are all linked to poor nutrition and dietary habits. This
program helps participants develop lifelong practices that
encourage good health and wellness.
There
are dozens of fad diets that circulate periodically through
the media spotlight. Many of these programs provide quick
weight loss, but these initial successes too frequently are
reversed over time. Life is not a sprint, it is a journey,
and positive, lifelong practices are required for true health
and well-being. This 45-minute seminar helps your employee
and management populations obtain the knowledge and skills
to adopt diet guidelines that act as a key health management
tool. The seminar materials presented during this intensive
training will provide tools for adopting lifelong positive
nutritional habits.
Lifestyle and Stress Management – We would all
like to lead more healthful, stress-free lifestyles, but most
of us do not know how. Integrating the myriad of information
in magazines and on television into a workable program seems
an insurmountable task. This seminar series will introduce
a comprehensive approach that individuals can use to improve
their lives and meet their goals.
According
to O'Donnell et al., 97% of chronic diseases are lifestyle
related. The objective of this course is to empower your workforce
with the knowledge, skills and tools to better manage the
environment outside themselves, as well as their own human
performance capabilities. This is accomplished initially with
a 3 ½ hour workshop with 30-minute tracking evaluations
semi-annually to measure behavioral outcomes in terms of increasing
productivity, Emotional Intelligence quotients, and general
satisfaction. All materials and tools are included in the
training.
