1)   Understand how to facilitate the OccuCom System’s four-phase methodology in the ergonomics process. This systems approach is diagrammed below:

§ Phase-1 first involves the passive collection of meaningful data from a client organization using quantitative and qualitative methods (e.g., injury trends, functional literacy level, Moore-Garge Strain Index, Haddon Matrix, etc.). Active surveillance is then performed through observation and interview of the targeted workforce along with videotaping and systematic measuring of the workplace.

§ Phase-2 involves the analysis of all relevant data and research for potential risk exposures and root causes, as well as the development of a comprehensive report that reveals all reasonable recommendations, such as design/redesign of tools and equipment, administrative controls and training interventions along with risk prioritization. A number of examples will be shown to encourage “Management-Buy-In”, as well as project timelines and budgeting.

§ Phase-3 is the actual implementation of the recommended action items or interventions

§ Phase-4 is the evaluation or reevaluation of the outcomes or metrics measured from the ergonomics program, which will reveal its level of success.

2)   Learn how to perform objective, defensible, and complete workstation evaluations with a hands-on, highly interactive, and hi-tech/hi-touch approach.

3)   Learn how to develop effective marketing strategies and sales models which will convert prospects to established clients.

4)   Understand the contract biding process, and know how to prepare an appropriate proposal.
